heading home
Tomorrow I fly. I hope it's like today...blue skies with some light clouds to fly through. I can't wait to fly into the Green Mtn state and see all the reds, oranges, yellows, browns and greens. I will see my friend Angel who I have known since 1st grade and finally meet her son Chou and husband Gopi. I will spend time with my cousin and her daughters, go dancing and talk into the wee hours of the morning. I'll canvas the dirt roads surrounding my home with my parents counting the deer. I'll see my grandmothers and hug them as tightly as I can. I'm heading for the land of maple syrup, Phish and good skiing. My home sweet home.

October
we all slow down
and the sweaters come out
and you snuggle up close
and the apples smell sweet
we all slow down
and it's darker outside
and we walk in the park
and the trees become bright
we all slow down
and enjoy the cool breeze
and the crumbling leaves
and it feels like home.

Little Old Lancaster
Last night I got to spend time with JB and CB from Philly. Unfortunately, they were in town for a funeral, but it was great to get to wander around Lancaster with them. I am so proud of our little city. I love it more and more every day. We were a little bummed that The Neptune was closing when we tried to go in, but oh well...
Aaron had a little party over the weekend and I met a bunch of his friends. I felt a sense of community that was really special.

Reflecting
The acoustic genious of my friend Steve Bridgeman is my current soundtrack. The window is open n my office and I am so loving the breeze today. I have a picture of the sunset from the cruise on my computer desktop...ahhhhhhh. I'm definitely sold. Prior to this trip, cruises weren't even on my radar as something I cared that much about doing. Now...I want to plan another trip. I want to travel...and the cruise was so relaxing and beautiful. I love being on water. It made me think about how small I am in the grand scheme of things.
At first, I felt really weird going with everything going on in the south...but I realize that it is ok to still enjoy my life while doing what I can financially, praying and thinking about those affected. It is quite sobering to see pictures of the area I just was in getting hit with hurricanes this week.
I had the opportunity to go snorkeling and kayaking in Cozumel, Mexico. That was the highlight of my trip. I saw so many fish, sponges, an eel, starfist, stingray and other ocean life. Our guides/instructors were great!
Everyone treated us really well on the cruise. I had been warned about all the food...it was nuts. Ann and I made a point of walking the steps every time we went anywhere rather than using the elevator. That helped a lot!
Wow, I have so much to write about. Hopefully I'll get back into the blogging mode now that summer is over. I still have a trip home to VT next weekend for over a week! Bring on the relaxing on the patio with mom and dad!!!

First Signs of Autumn
Autumn is swooping in. Sweet, sweet relief. The change of season is tumultuous but also refreshing. Driving to my office, I felt a calm. I felt a cool breeze. I saw the blue sky and I smiled. Autumn is swooping in. The feverish summer pace will be replaced with leizurely Fall walks, bulky sweaters that slow you down. Settling into routine for a little while would be o.k. with me.
