I like where I work.
What a day. Today and tomorrow we are doing a Pledge Drive at WJTL. It's 6:18 pm and I've been here since 5:45 am...It's been exciting and encouraging receiving all the phone calls and hearing stories and testimonies about the impact that this radio station has on their lives...but i'm still very tired.
I must admit, I don't always listen to the radio station, but I do appreciate it. I grew up in an area that didn't have anything for Christian radio. My youth group leaders introduced us to some stuff, but we usually had to travel to Massachussetts or somewhere crazy just to see a concert. For the most part, I didn't really listen to all that much Christian music as a kid.
Since I'm talking about things I appreciate about the place where I work, I want to mention my co-workers. How many people get to work with/for people who become some of their best friends or 2nd family? What...no competition...noone biting and scratching their way to the top and trying to steal your job...nope. In fact we all end up doing each others jobs once in a while and that's ok. That was something to get used to, but it's a good thing. It's not always the case, even in Christian organizations.
So, yeah, it's an exciting crazy week here with the pledge drive and Top 500 and we had a lot of events over the weekend. I'm glad to be a part of it all.

I appreciate you, too! Love you! As much as it can stink sometimes, our job does rock.

Stacey,
We love and appreciate you. I'm glad you like your job. Do you think Karen meant me when she said the stink part ? I guess I could shower more.
