Festivals a Comin
My 4 Month Planner does not lie. It doesn't hide the truth. It tells it like it is. May thru August...the entire summer mapped out with Festival dates and other big events written in blue.
Staffing is well underway for Karen and Fred. Kurt and I were just talking thru the plans for Creation Gates Supervisors teams. AAAAAAAHHHHH and Yipppee at the same time. We head out to Agape in a month from next Tuesday. I love going to Creation, especially getting there early and seeing the place before it is mobbed with thousands and thousands of people. It's beautiful. I can't wait to hike the trail to the lookout. It will be different this year in a lot of ways for me...including the fact that I will be able to take more than like 5 steps without taking a break...woo hoo.
Creation is a whirlwind, it's exhausting, but it's also very fulfilling. I couldn't imagine being there and not being on staff. I love greeting the festival goers as they come thru gates and I love working with Kurt and our staff and with all the Office/Staff Office staff. We usually have fun with our gates team..the Red team. It's also a sick sort of fun as we all enter different phases of exhaustion and delirium. We get silly and cranky but it's all a part of the experience. And of course...the culmination is always the stories of peoples lives changed through challenges made by speakers, concerts or times at their campsites. I especially appreciate hearing stories after the festival is over, knowing that people have followed through with those commitments. That does happen and that's what it's all about. So yeah, thinking about the festivals. Praying for good weather and another fun, safe, and yes blessed season.
