Tear Down!
Today is teardown day! We are all so tired and exhausted from a week at Creation. It's been a long week with a lot of emotional highs and lows, and we are thankful for the end, but also thankful for the changed lives, of which we hope there are a lot. Most if the time we don't hear about them for a little while, and sometimes never, but we just trust that God is working here.
We have already started teardown, and are anxiously awaiting the Newsboys show...because it is the last of the evening. Woo Hoo, and that's not the song, that's the exclamation. Anyway, off to teardown now. Let's hear it for sleep!

At Creation...
Here we are at Creation...having a pretty good time. Tired already, but things are going great, the weather's pretty good. Lots of people are here. Woo Hoo!
Plus, we finally got online. Pray for us! We could all use the strength and energy.

Sock Puppets
What did you do at work today? Made a video with sock puppets. Yep, that's what I did, after shopping for the materials to make the puppets and prepare the scenery. My sock puppet got to eat a burnt marshmellow. Yeah! It was quite fun in the mess of all other things we are having to do to get to make a video with sock puppets.
It's only one week until we leave for the Creation Festival. I feel so much less than ready. The sock puppet video is for part of the staff orientation. Fun stuff there. I have a lot of other much more "officey" stuff left to do. It will get done, and if it doesn't, I guess it didn't need to. Or I'll get fired because it didn't. One or the other. I know they would at least wait until after Creation to fire me. But I doubt it would get that far.
I'm sleepy. It's a rainy day, and that is making me sleepy. Sigh.

Harry Potter is cool.
Though my world is especially busy right now, I took the time out to go see the latest Harry Potter movie. I thought it was very cool. They went with a new director on this one, and I thought it was the best of the three. A little darker visually, but more interesting. I really enjoyed it, even though I had a killer headache through the movie. I think it's a shame that the main characters will most likely not be able to play the roles through the series. Daniel Radcliffe is outstanding as Harry Potter. I hope he will be able to break through that role and continue as an actor, because I think he's really great. The movie had such a great cast outside the "kids." (though you can hardly call them that anymore) Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman, Gary Oldman, to name a few. Wow. That's an awesome cast no matter what kind of movie you're talking about. So, anyway, I really like the movie. I'd definitely see it again. I should be earning a free movie ticket soon with my Regal Gold Crown Club Card. Ah, the benefits of membership.
On the downside of things, Harry Potter was the upside...I feel pretty icky today. Yes, I said icky. I think I've caught my at-least-once-a-summer-cold. It usually happens about this time. Right before Creation. My head feels like it could explode. My throat hurts. My nose is stuffy. Icky. So, I'll feel better in a few days. Hopefully back to 100% in time for the EcoChallenge Stacey and I are manning a checkpoint for. I think it's a great idea. Run by Lebanon YFC, it's for groups of youth to hike, bike, raft, etc. to build teamwork. Not quite on the level of the really cool Mark Burnett Eco-Challenge, but cool nonetheless. I was thinking that Lyle, the guy that put it together might be a little sadistic, as Stacey was telling me what the course was like. I think I might call him Mr. Burnett on Saturday. I hope he wears a hat like Mark Burnett does. That will make it perfect.
Anyhow. Everything is moving forward for Creation. We have our big staff mailer tomorrow. Lots of help coming in. It should be a super fun day. Pizza for lunch and everything. As long as my head doesn't explode before then, everything will be swell.

So Tired.
The days are just flying by. It's the time of year when every day is one that if you blink, you might miss it. I can't believe it's 4:15 already.
Last night, Stacey and I went to see "The Day After Tomorrow." It's a movie about a shift in the Northern Current that causes an abrupt shift in global climate, which causes super storms and an immediate Ice Age. The movie had really cool effeccts, but in general, it was pretty ridiculous. There were some particularly ridiculous moments with animals, and come far-fetched movie moments. Now, I realize it was just a movie, but come on, let's not insult our intelligence. I guess I should take it for what it was...a fun summer blockbuster popcorn movie. I didn't hate it, I just wouldn't recommend it.
I also have a really bad pain in my neck today (and no, it's not Creation). It a serious muscle spasm. I get them every once in awhile. I end up taking a muscle relaxant, which makes me really, really sleepy. Which I am. It makes for good sleeping, but it's hard to concentrate on much when I'm taking them. Plus my neck hurts a lot.
Stacey, Ann, Mindy and I are going to Cape May for the day tomorrow. I'm pretty excited, although it's supposed to rain pretty much all day there. Oh, well. We'll have fun anyway. I love Cape May. It's a pretty little town. Great seafood, great atmosphere, great fun. We're going on a bus tour, which is cool, so I won't have to sell a kidney or anything to afford the gas for the trip.
Tonight, there's a small group of us going to Stray's to play board games. I only hope I can stay awake to play at least one game. I'm so tired, and I need to get up early for the trip. Here's hoping!

It was a Dark and Stormy Night...
Ok, so it's not night, so it's not really dark, but it is kind of stormy. There's some thunder rumbling around outside. I think I even saw a little bit of lightning. Plus, it's raining. Besides, didn't you ever read the Peanuts strip where Snoopy is sitting on top of his doghouse with his typewriter, and he always starts what he's writing with "It was a Dark and Stormy Night." Ok, nevermind. It was just a thought anyway.
This was a great long weekend. Very productive. I got a lot of stuff for Creation done. Most of the staff are assigned. I got my basement cleaned out in preparation for my brother to store some of his stuff there in preparation for his move to the Lancaster area. I got to have a "cook-in" yesterday, since it "was a dark and stormy day" yesterday. Hee hee. I also played some games with my parents. We played some cards and then some Carcassonne and Settlers. I got beat soundly all around. It was pretty funny. They have no idea what they're doing, and yet they still trounce me. Oh well. I've always said I'm not very good at the games, I just really like playing them.
Saturday, Stacey and I got to go to Hersheypark again. Fun stuff. It was Client Appreciation Day this time. Just so no one thinks I can afford to go to Hersheypark on a whim. I can't. Movies are about as whimsical as I get. I do those pretty frequently. It's one of my indulgences. Plus, it's Tuesday, which, over the summer is free popcorn day! Can't beat that! Tonight I'm going to see Shrek again. Too much stuff going on to catch it all the first time. I want to see The Day After Tomorrow, but so does Stacey, so I'm waiting to see that with her. I think we're going on Thursday. That's the plan, at least.
Oh, on Saturday, Stace and I also got to go to TJ Rockwell's and hang out on the deck after our day at Hersheypark. That was really cool, too. Relaxing. Nice. My last highlight of the day is that I got my tickets to the Lord of the Rings Exhibition at the Massachusetts Science Museum in Boston for October! Yay! It's my birthday present to me. Stacey is a really good friend. She's going with me, even though she really doesn't care that much about seeing the exhibit, she's supporting me. What a cool person.
So, it's June. I'm ok with that. Really I am.
